It's a lot of fun going through your work sometimes and finding old pieces that could be altered or improved -- or both -- to come up with something reasonably different and new. This was from a wallpaper I did a while back which had a rather annoying and large light source (the sun) and an ugly formation weird gaseous clouds that looked vaguely like eyes. I wanted to get rid of those while adding some more features.

Just for fun, I was considering adding some neat text along the lines of "Laika, still out there...", but of course she perished sadly a few hours into launch. Would have been a nice touch though if history were different (alas, somewhat creepy too).
